Matisse at Tate Modern

I've always loved Acanthes (see above) so it was amazing to see it in real life - I just couldn't get over the scale! It's absolutely massive!

Penguin Ink

This is the second round of covers designed by tattoo artists for the penguin ink series, and I definitely prefer these. A clever idea, beautifully executed.

New style for Will Self

I'm not a big fan of Will Self but I think these covers could persuade me to give him another go. I love the typography and the colour scheme. But I think its a shame they didn't stick with illustrations throughout as I the photographic covers feel less effective.

The covers are printed on uncoated stock and will be available from next month, published by bloomsbury  and designed by Greg Heinimann
